Growing up the definition of champion, for many, was reserved for first place or first prize. There was one champion in everything and everyone else missed the mark. This is something that so many of us wrestle with that can cause us to trip up or stop in our tracks for fear of failure. But did you know there is another definition for champion? Champion also means ardent defender of purpose and people!
So here at Champions Built not only do we ardently defend purpose and the people who carry those purposes
but we equip others to be and do the same.

KRISTI MCGIHON
Champions Built Co-Founder
Kristi lives in San Diego, California, with her husband Scott and their two boys, Chase and Blake, who are currently attending college. Kristi and Scott have been married for over 30 years, meeting in college as athletes. Athletics and coaching has been a part of their lives and stories in every season.
Kristi's athletic career included being a collegiate track & field heptathlete, continuing for 8 years after college, and then going on to be a member of the US Bobsled team for 2 years, including being an alternate for the 2002 Olympics. Following her athletic career she spent almost 20 years building a
highly successful direct sales business. While furthering their business, Kristi was able to grow individually while simultaneously building and leading both individuals and teams to reach their goals. Along the way she learned that she also had her Dad’s heart to both preach and teach, and was blessed to be able to effectively speak to small and large audiences. Now, along with her husband Scott as mutual co-founders and co-owners of Champions Built, they are excited and motivated to help others continue growing in how God has gifted them. Starting with “52 Days to Change Your World”, which is a faith saturated program for women, she is excited with the upcoming launch of “52 Days to Change Your Marriage”, and also “52 Days to Change Your Words”. Whether coaching in athletics/ each other/ their family/ in the business realm/ ministry, they bring all of who the Lord has created them to be to unlock the unique design of others.

Scott met Kristi in the Fall of 1989, and were married in April, 1993, successfully navigating their long-distance relationship while Scott attended Law School at the University of Utah, and Kristi finished her undergraduate work at UC Irvine. They met as student-athletes at UC Irvine, and athletics and relationship building have long been personal cornerstones. After graduating in 1993 from Law School, Scott went on to become a swim coach, with the last 13 of his 20 year coaching career spent as the head coach at UC San Diego. Along the way he was blessed to be able to coach several Olympic Trials qualifiers, more than 20 top 3 team finishes at the NCAA Championships, and 41 National Champions. After Scott concluded his athletic coaching career, he and Kristi continued to build their highly successful direct sales business from home, while raising their boys and supporting the boy's school. And in a time of need, Scott stepped in to lead their school as the head of schools, leading the school through a time of rebuilding during COVID, and overseeing the most successful school fundraisers in history in both attendance and amounts raised. Scott and Kristi now enjoy using the gifts that God has blessed them with to reveal to others how He has uniquely created and gifted them, and are so grateful for their unique experiences and backgrounds that have enabled them to lead others.
